Blue Halloween Buckets This Year Raise Autism Awareness

A Facebook post that has gone viral on Facebook encourages blue Halloween buckets to raise autism awareness. Parents hope that the blue bucket message will spread so that kids who have autism will feel included while they are out trick-or-treating.

So this Halloween you might see some children out in Columbus, Georgia carrying blue buckets. The blue buckets are meant to alert the candy givers that the child or teen might have autism, may be non-verbal, and can’t say things like “trick or treat” or “Happy Halloween” in exchange for the candy.

The blue buckets should not be confused with the “Teal Pumpkin Project” meant to raise awareness for food allergies.
